Coach Nick Spataro

Spataro

Nick Spataro has been the head wrestling coach at Dixie Hollins High School for the past 7 years. From 1993-1995 he was an assistant coach at San Mateo High School in California. He then returned home and was the assistant coach at Osceola High School, where he then became the head coach from 1999-2001 where he coached with his brother Ron Spataro. While coaching at Osceola he won seven district team titles and placed top five at the regional tournament three times. As a wrestler he wrestled for Osceola High School. He was a three time state qualifier. In college he wrestled for Skyline College in San Bruno, California from 1992-1995. He was an All-American and placed 2nd in the state. Nick graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Secondary Physical Education.

 

Coach Edwin Bryant

Edwin Bryant attended Dixie Hollins  High School from 1990-1994. While in high school Edwin wrestled for Mike Morey and was an all-state football player and a two time all-state wrestler. Following high school Edwin attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina on a wrestling scholarship from 1994-1995. in 1996 Edwin returned to Dixie Hollins to be an assistant coach in both football and wrestling. From 2000-2004 Edwin served as Dixie Hollins' head wrestling coach. Edwin has been employed with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office since 1998 and he and his wife Jennifer have two children.

 

Mike Thompson

This is Michael Thompson’s third year as an assistant coach at Dixie HollinsHigh School, reuniting him with head coach Nick Spataro who was his wrestling coach in high school. In 2005 he was the assistant coach at Osceola High School where he became the head coach in 2006. As a wrester he wrestled for Osceola High School. He was a two time state qualifier and his team won four consecutive district titles. In college he wrestled at Skyline College in San Bruno, California from 2004-2005. Mike is currently working on his Physical Education degree at St. Petersburg College.
